Next Generation Maruti Alto Launched with CNG Variant

Indian auto manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India Limited has launched a “peppier, more fuel efficient, next generation” bi-fuel Alto K10 in New Delhi. The newly added Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) trim powered by the Intelligent Gas Port Injection (iGPI) delivers mileage of 32.26 kilometers per kg in CNG mode. The new 998cc CNG-powered Alto with factory fitted i-GPI CNG technology follows on from the 800cc model that was first launched with a CNG kit in 2009 for the 2010 model. The Alto K1o conforms to Bharat Stage emission standard 4 (BS IV). The engine develops maximum power of 59 PS at 6,000 rpm in CNG Mode (68 PS gasoline) and maximum torque of 78 Nm in CNG mode (90 Nm gasoline). It carries 60 litres (water equivalent capacity) of CNG and 35 litres gasoline
Presenting the next generation Alto K10, Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director & CEO said, “Having won millions of customers we decided to upgrade an already successful car with a full model change that makes Alto K10 taller, wider and roomier. The wider range of the Alto K10 comes with 6 variants including a CNG option and will strengthen Maruti Suzuki’s entry level range and get incremental numbers”.
