When we woke up yesterday morning everything was blanketed in about four inches of white. Having never lived in a cold climate the boys were ecstatic, dancing around the house and chafing to get outside. Jude even ran outside in his footie pajamas because he couldn’t stand the anticipation any longer.
We told them that they would need to wait until after breakfast. I put a pan of baked oatmeal in the oven and stepped into the office to do a little bit of homework.
About ten minutes later Scott asked me what his mom’s phone # was. I rattled it off without much thought until I heard the following words:
“Hi Mom. Please talk to Jude. He’s worried that we’re in an ice age so you need to tell him there isn’t any snow in Las Vegas right now.”

Heheh…that’s pretty funny.
I can relate to such feelings having moved from SW Washington State to NW Colorado in November. My first day of school, my brother and I were freaked out by the freezing of our nosehairs - we had no idea what it was and were convinced that boogers were overflowing from our nostrils!

I know the feeling. 12 years ago, my hubby and I moves to Canada from South Africa and believe me the first year the weather was a huge shock to the system. Now we really try and embrace it.
